Localization of Sustainable Development Goals in Nepalgunj

Nepalgunj Sub-metropolis has started efforts to localize 17 indicators under the Sustainable Development Goals. Acting Mayor Uma ThapaMagar informed that the sub-metropolis has formed a team of employees for the localization of the goal of sustainable development based on the data obtained.

Stating that this has laid a good foundation for the next five years, he said that the localization of the sustainable development goal is an institutional asset of the city and it needs the cooperation of all to implement it. In Nepalgunj, efforts are being made to localize 17 indicators under the Sustainable Development Goals with the support of GIZ / CDSG. Acting mayor Thapa Magar said that the city has improved a lot even in the midst of confusion due to a lack of data.

The sub-metropolis will achieve gender equality out of 17 indicators and empower all women, adolescents and girls, make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, uplifting and sustainable, ensure inclusive and equitable and quality education, promote life skills learning opportunities for all, stable inclusive and sustainable economic. Priority is given to indicators that promote growth, productive employment and decent work.

Chief Administrative Officer Jagat Basnet informed that a presentation was made on behalf of all the thematic committees of the sub-metropolis on the current situation and the achievements to be achieved by 2025 BS and 2030 BS. He said that the localization of the sustainable development goal has been achieved after a long process and added that there would be support from the staff level for its implementation.
