An improvised explosive device was found at Surahi rivulet in Shivaraj municipality-1, Kapilvastu, this morning.
The Nepali Army, bomb disposal team defused the explosive material found near Surahi bridge along east-west highway.
Locals, who went for swimming in the rivulet, informed Nepal Police after seeing a suspicious material.
Police Inspector at Ward Police Office in Chandrauta, Kapil Jung Shahi said, they received the information about the explosive material on Friday and NA's bomb disposal team from Gorusinge, defused it this morning.
The explosives might have been left there during the then conflict period.
