The civil society in the district has drawn the attention of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) to carry out reforms in electricity service. This happens following frequent obstructions in electricity in the district.

At the initiative of the Human Rights Protection Network, a joint team of human rights defenders, journalists, and civil society leaders on Thursday met with Krishna Hari Dahal, chief of the NEA distribution centre, Manthali and submitted a memorandum to him.

The delegation team complained about power outages time and again in the district.

As a result of power disturbance, people have been affected in many ways. In particular, students taking online classes have been affected while financial institutions and other services are disturbed.

Receiving the memo, NEA, Manthali chief Dahal said that he was serious about providing a smooth power supply. He however admitted that there had been disturbances in electricity due to the monsoon.
