A chartered flight of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) will be flying to China today. The NAC aircraft will be departing for Beijing to bring anti-coronavirus vaccines that are being provided Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The flight will be departing from Tribhuvan International Airport today to bring the vaccines, as per the national flag carrier. If the weight allows then the aircraft will bring eight lakh doses of the vaccine. The flight will depart at 11 pm tonight and return to Kathmandu at 2:30 pm on Tuesday.
During a telephone conversation with President Bidhya Devi Bhandari on May 26, Chinese President Jinping had pledged to provide one million doses of the COVID-19 vaccines under grant assistance.
