A total of one million doses of anti-coronavirus vaccine, Covishield, are being imported on Sunday.
Assistant Spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population Dr Samir Kumar Adhikari said that the vaccine will arrive in Kathmandu via the flight of Air India at 1:30 PM.
As per the agreement to procure two million doses of anti-coronavirus vaccines from Serum Institute of India, the first consignment of the vaccine is being brought.
From the airport, the vaccine would be taken to Teku-based freezing centre for storage. The vaccine will be administered to people above 55 years of age from March 7.
