The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has urged the people not to protest, make statements or spread propaganda in the Paul Shah case.

The commission has stated that such activities may violate the privacy and dignity of both the accused and the victim while the investigation process is underway. Therefore, the commission has requested to assist the investigation process with restraint.

The commission said in a press release today that "serious criminal investigations should be conducted in a confidential, impartial, independent and fearless manner in accordance with the principles of criminal justice."

The Commission urges not to disseminate news to the pros and cons, not to record videos without the permission of the person concerned, not to make the recorded videos public and to destroy them due to excessive propaganda affecting the investigation process of serious criminal offenses.

The commission has urged all parties concerned to make the evidence available to the investigating officers instead of making it public.
