The Department of Operational Support and the Office of Information and Communications Technology under the UN secretariat will be organizing the 7th edition of the Partnership for Technology in Peacekeeping international symposium in Nepal from June 13 to June 16.
Public Relations and Information Directorate of the Nepali Army shared in a press release that the symposium would dwell on emerging issues of IT and its implication in security, the technologies applied in peacekeeping missions, challenges, and best practices.
In the event to be coordinated by Nepali Army, experience and knowledge on the related issues would be exchanged among the member states.
A total of 230 people, including representatives from 51 member states of the UN, experts from 11 peacekeeping missions, and force commanders will participate. Even Under Secretary General of the UN Department of Operation Support, Atul Khare will participate in the symposium.
The first symposium was held in Italy in 2014.
