The petroleum dealers have supported the demand made by the tanker drivers to the government to provide them with vaccines against the COVID-19. Petroleum tanker drivers today halted the supply of fuel stating that they would start transporting only after they were provided with the vaccines.

The Nepal Petroleum Tanker Drivers Association has said that unless and until they are provided with the vaccines they will not transport petroleum products.

The Nepal Petroleum Dealers National Association, the umbrella organisation of petrol pumps, has also issued a statement today demanding the government to provide their employees with vaccines against the coronavirus as soon as possible. The association has stated that even after making repeated requests to vaccinate petrol pump employees and those who transport fuel the government has done nothing till date.

The association has warned Nepal Oil Corporation and the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies that there could be disruption in fuel sales if the government does not provide it with vaccines at the earliest.
