President Bidya Devi Bhandari is arriving in Manang today. The Head of the State is scheduled to come here for an exposure visit.

Chief District Officer Rabindra Prasad Acharya shared that President Bhandari will be arriving in Manang today morning by helicopter.

"In Manang, President Bhandari will visit several places, including Agro Manang Pvt Ltd Apple Farm of parliamentarian Palden Chhopang Gurung", CDO Acharya informed.

The Head of the State will also observe the rain-induced loss and damage and the flood-ravaged areas in some places of Manang.

According to CDO Acharya, the President is also set to inquire about the problems surfaced in the Himalayan district due to climate change. The flood and landslides occurred in the Himalayan region of the district on last June-July had affected the livelihood of the people adversely.

Local people's representatives however are effortful to reconstruct the structures ravaged by the water-induced disasters.

The devastating flood had disrupted main transport routes in the district for some time. A very basic and temporary roadway now has been established. The devastated electric system of the district has also been fixed and resumed. Life is gradually coming back to normalcy in the district.
