The Sanfe-Martadi highway has been obstructed again due to landslides triggered by continuous heavy rainfall. The highway had just opened a few days ago after being obstructed.
Landslides have taken place in Balde, Omkot, Dwari, and Olena of the highway. Efforts to clear the road have been hampered by continuous rainfall, said Inspector Dhandev Saud of the District Police Office, Bajura.
The highway has been frequently affected by landslides since the beginning of the monsoon this year. The area has been witnessing heavy rainfall since Friday.
Traffic along the highway has been obstructed this morning, and we are working to remove the debris using an excavator and resume traffic, said Chief District Officer Gopal Kumar Adhikari.
