Security personnel have still not been able to reach the flood and landslide-affected areas of Naso Rural Municipality in Manang. The floods and landslides caused by the continuous rainfall since June 15 have displaced scores of families in the rural municipality. People in the area have also not been able to move to other locations because of the erosion that has taken place in the region.

Some families who had moved to safer locations are now facing difficulties of availing food and drinking water. Locals, meanwhile, have complained that none of the security agencies in the district have visited the affected places for inspection.

Though a joint team of Nepal Police, Nepal Army and Armed Police Force have tried to reach the rural municipality the continuous rainfall has hampered their attempts.

The lower region of the rural municipality has been submerged due to the flood in the Marshyangdi River on Tuesday, as per Chief District Officer Bishnu Lamichhane. He said that of the four local levels in the district three have been completely damaged. He added that the floods had damaged eight suspension bridges and two motorable bridges in the district.
