Senior leader Poudel says Sanskrit language is important

Senior leader of Nepali Congress, Ramchandra Poudel, has stressed the need of restoring the Sanskrit education and values.

Addressing a virtual programme organised on the 70th anniversary of Valmiki Vidyapeeth on Monday, Poudel said that Sankrit is the richest language of the world and it needs to be preserved.

Also the former student of Valmiki Vidhyapeeth, senior leader Poudel argued that even the Nepali language was a cultured and progressive one for having its base on Sanskrit. "We need a coordinator to devote to this sector. We're ready to extend assistance from political side. Let's be positive to revive Sanskrit aura," he said, reminding that Jayatu Sanskritam contributed to establishment of democracy.

The senior leader further said unity among Sanskrit scholars is imperative. Guru is always for truth. He also remembered that he had completed Bachelor's Level education from then Sanskrit Mahavidyalay from 2020BS to 2024BS. "Sanskrit education has helped me be firm in politics. I'm indebted to Sanskrit education and values and its scholars," he underscored.

Moreover, former lawmaker and NC central member Badri Pande remembered Valmiki Vidyapeeth from the academic principles.

Vice Chancellor at Nepal Sanskrit University Professor Dr Yadav Prakash Lamichhane viewed it is right time to spread the message that Sanskrit University is the veritable knowledge hub when the West is gradually attracted to oriental study.
