The District Administration Office, Surkhet, has extended the ongoing lockdown for one more week considering that spread of coronavirus was not contained as expected.
Chief District Officer Chhabilal Rijal informed that the order on enforcement of lockdown was extended for a week in order to contain the growing coronavirus. The infection was increased after the lockdown was relaxed. Saving people's lives is, therefore, the first priority, he underscored.
However, the medical shops are allowed to run for 24 hours. Similarly, the vehicles carrying vegetables, fruits, and milk are allowed to run from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. The groceries and others shops would be open from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm, said assistant CDO Rom Bahadur Mahat.
Moreover, the hotels and restaurants are asked not to gather people more than 50 per cent of their capacity and abide by health and safety protocol.
The assembly, seminar, dohori dance, feasts, sports, swimming, Deuda, and fairs are prohibited in the district.
