Temporary police post at the border of Parbat and Baglung

A police post has been set up for the first time on the border of Baglung and Parbat. A temporary police post has come into operation in Kushma Municipality-1, Maldhunga on Thursday.

According to Shivaraj Budathoki, Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Police Office, Parbat, a police post has been set up at the junction of Mid-Hill Highway and Kaligandi Corridor to curb illegal activities. Budathoki said that the police post would play a big role in reducing the number of road accidents on both the highways and controlling the illegal excavation of ballast and sand from the Kaligandaki River.

The temporary police post was inaugurated by Chief District Officer Devi Pandey Khatri. He has requested to provide service to the citizens round the clock from this post. According to Inspector Rajendra Adhikari, the temporary police post has been brought into operation as per the order of the Administration Department Branch of the Police Headquarters and the Gandaki Provincial Police Office Pokhara Branch on January 20.

Acting Ward Chairman of Kushma-1, Birendra Rijal, said that the demand for a police post has been met for a long time. He said that it was of great importance for the protection of illegal activities and highways on the border of the two districts.
