Three persons died and 24 others sustained injuries in a bus-truck collision in Nawalpur district along the East-West Highway this morning.
A bus (Su Pra 2-001) en route from Kakarbhitta to Mahendranagar collided with a truck (Na 6 Kha 7126) in Gaidakot Municipality-10, Nawalpur.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in Nawalpur, Dilip Kumar Giri, informed that three passengers died on the spot while the bus slid 10 metres below the road after it collided with the truck. The deceased are two women and a man. Police have yet to establish the identity of the deceased.
The bus was carrying a total of 26 passengers. Three of the injured are said to be in critical condition. The injured include the truck driver.
The injured ones have been taken to New Medical College, Bharatpur in Chitwan for treatment, informed DSP Giri.
