Three members of a family were found dead in Barpak Sulikot Rural Municipality-1 of Gorkha district today morning.
The deceased have been identified as Dil Bahadur Gurung, 84, his daughter-in-law Aita Kumari Gurung, 22, and 13-year-old granddaughter Usha Gurung.
The villagers suspected something had gone wrong after they did not show up outside even in the late morning. Subsequently, they broke into the house of Gurung and found them dead. Shortly, they reported the incident to the police. The locals suspect that they might have died from the consumption of poisonous mushroom as they were found foaming at the mouth.
A team from Jaubari-based Area Police Office, led by Inspector Ishwor Laudari has been dispatched to the incident site, said Superintendent of Police (SP) Surendra Bahadur Gurung.
