Jumla Tila rural municipality has been declared a full vaccination assured local level. Rural municipality chair Ratannath Yogi shared that the declaration was made when children of all nine wards of the rural municipality were fully assured of vaccination access.
He said, “We were successful in declaring the rural municipality a fully-vaccinated zone. It was only possible with the untiring efforts of health workers, women health volunteers, and people’s representatives of Tila. The rural municipality has made a crucial achievement. As education and health are the fundamental rights of the children, vaccination needs to be given continuity. No children will be deprived of access to vaccination in Tila”
The Tila rural municipality has laid emphasis on the health sector, Yogi added. They have provided doorstep health check-up services o senior citizens and children.
There are only five health posts within the rural municipality. Earlier, children were deprived of vaccination services when mothers had to spend most of their time on household chores.
Vice-chairperson of the rural municipality, Bishnu Budha said the establishment of four additional primary health centres and three health units in Tila has made it easier to bring all children within the reach of the vaccination service.
