Two schools get computers, educational materials

MYAGDI: Migrant Nepalis have provided information technology-related materials to two schools in Myagdi.

Lions Club of Baltimore Nepalis, a club of Nepalis residing at Baltimore in USA, provided computers to Bal Mandir Secondary School at Beni municipality-8 and Saraswoti Basic School at Beni Municipality-2 worth Rs 650,000.

Club President Baikuntha Man Shrestha said computers were donated after collecting fund from a 'Charity Show' about the situation of Saraswoti Basic School and Bal Mandir Secondary School.

The club provided materials worth Rs 550,000 including nine computers to Bal Mandir Secondary School and other educational materials while two computers and one printer to Saraswoti Basic School.

President Shrestha handed over the materials to Chairperson of School Management Committee and School Principal through Mayor of Beni Municipality, Surat KC and Chairperson of Beni municipality-8, Uttam Karmacharya, this morning.

Similarly, Sristi BK, a sixth grader at Saraswoti Basic School, was provided the monetary assistance of Rs 30,000 while Rs 15,000 each to Rijan BK, eight grader, and Soniya Chhetri, fifth grader, at Bal Mandir Basic School, for their study.

The IT materials were provided to schools at a coordination of former Student of Bal Mandir Secondary School, Prem Charmakar, who is in America, and the Lions Club of Beni Lovely Hill.

Principal of Bal Mandir Secondary School, Surendra KC, shared that the computers and other educational materials would be beneficial in teaching learning activities as well as in administrative works.
