The number of people going to receive vaccines has increased after making vaccination cards mandatory for the service recipients coming to service providers in Syangja district.

Chief of the Health Office Basundhara Sharma informed that the vaccination campaign has been conducted in all health institutions of the district for two days and now the regular vaccination campaign is being continued in three health institutions.

Chief Sharma said that the number of people coming to the health facilities for vaccination has increased comparatively as soon as the service recipients were informed about the mandatory vaccination card. People still have fear of getting vaccinated. "What happens after getting vaccinated?" is a common question in many.

"In the past, only a small number of people came to get vaccinated," he said. He informed that the first and second doses of vaccine are being given regularly to all the people above 12 years of age at Gahaum Primary Hospital every day except holidays.

Hospital administrator Thanapati Neupane said that more than 100 people come to Galyang Nagar Hospital daily for vaccination. "The vaccination was supposed to be over," said Administrator Neupane.

According to Chief District Officer Raju Prasad Poudel, the District Security Committee has been looking into the evidence of vaccination of the service recipients against COVID-19 since last Friday. He said that the vaccination campaign has become more effective as vaccination cards have been made mandatory for the service recipients going to service providers. The administration has strictly enforced the requirement to show vaccination cards or at least their photo on phones.
