The CPN UML has instructed its party members not to attend the meeting called by the Madhav Kumar Nepal-Jhalanath Khanal-led faction. Issuing a statement today, Sher Bahadur Tamang, Secretary of the Central Office of CPN UML, has said that only the general secretary of the party on the advice of the chairperson is allowed to call for a meeting so it has asked party members not to attend the meeting called by those members against whom the party had initiated disciplinary action.

The Nepal-Khanal faction has called for a meeting of members close to the faction today.

Tamang, through the statement, has mentioned that it has come to the party’s notice that members against whom the party had initiated disciplinary action had called for a meeting today which is against the constitution of the party as only the general secretary is allowed to call a meeting on the advice of the party chairperson. He has instructed all party members to refrain from attending the meeting which is against the party constitution and the country’s laws.
