CPN-UML PP meet underway; CC meet later today

The parliamentary party meeting of CPN-UML is being held today while the central committee meeting will be held later in the afternoon.

Although the PP meeting was scheduled to commence at 10:30 am, at the Prime Minister's official residence in Baluwatar, the meeting started a little later, according to UML Office Secretary Ishwari Rijal. 

Likewise, the 12th central committee meeting has been scheduled to take place following the PP meeting. Both the meetings are expected to discuss the contemporary political situation as well as the differences within the party.

Moreover, the parliamentary party meeting is expected to amend the statue of the PP. The task force formed to amend the statute is set to present its report in the meeting today. The UML PP meeting on March 18 had formed a three-member statute amendment task force led by Chief Whip Bishal Bhattarai.

It has been learnt that the party's vice-chair Bamdev Gautam is also present in the PP meeting.

Likewise, the central committee has planned to form the General Convention Organising Committee, Secretary Rijal said. The UML's 10th general convention has been scheduled to be held in coming November this year.
