Senior leader of CPN UML Jhalanath Khanal has made an appeal to lawmakers of the party to vote in favour of newly-appointed Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, who is also the president of Nepali Congress, during the vote of confidence at the House of Representatives (HoR) today.
Khanal made this appeal through a statement from New Delhi in India where is he undergoing treatment at the Apollo Hospital. He asked the concerned lawmakers not to be in doubt and cast their votes in favour of Deuba.
He said that he would like to appeal to all lawmakers of CPN UML to not hold any grudge against Deuba and vote for him at the House. Khanal further added that even though he is not present in Nepal for the vote of confidence his vote would still go to Deuba.
PM Deuba will be facing the vote of confidence at the House of Representatives today. He was appointed prime minister by President Bidhya Devi Bhandari as per Article 76 (5) of the constitution after the Supreme Court issued a verdict seeking so.
