Securing victory in 32 local levels out of 79 in the Karnali Province, Nepali Congress (NC) has maintained its first position in the local level election, in 2022.
According to the Election Commission, NC won in 32 local levels while CPN (Maoist Centre) secured its second position emerging victorious in 23 local levels.
Likewise, CPN (UML) won at 15 local levels, CPN (Unified Socialist) in four, and five others from the independent candidates.
In the local level election held five years ago, UML was the first force with 26 victories at the local levels while NC was the third force then.
NC won two in Rukum West, four in Surkhet, three in Jajarkot, three in Humla, two in Kalikot, five in Jumla, two in Mugu, and one in Dolpa and five in Salyan district.
Likewise, the party claimed victory in five local levels of Dailekh.
Similarly, CPN (Maoist Centre) lost two seats compared to the last local level election and currently secured victory in 23 local levels in the Karnali Province.
Meanwhile, NC Karnali Province President Lalit Jung Shahi issued a press release on Saturday and thanked one and all for their efforts to establish NC as the largest political force in the Karnali Province.
