Speaker Sapkota's case postponed

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Agni Prasad Sapkota, has applauded the reinstatement of the House by the Supreme Court.

The case against Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota scheduled to be heard in the Constitutional Court of the Supreme Court today has also been put on hold.

A case was filed against him in 2068 BS. Earlier, the case was also filed on 2076, but the hearing was adjourned due to lack of time.

Sapkota has been accused of being involved in the assassination of Arjun Lama of Kavre during the armed conflict. Lama was abducted from a parents' meeting place at Shrikrishna Higher Secondary School, Dapcha.

His wife Purnimaya had filed a complaint against Sapkota in 2064 BS saying that Lama was killed by digging a ditch in the third week of July.
