Supreme Court refutes allegation that Rana met Oli

The Supreme Court has issued a press statement today refuting the allegations that Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana had held a meeting with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli last night.

Several media houses had published various types of news alleging that Oli and Rana had held a secret meeting last night. The statement issued by the Supreme Court states that the allegations are totally baseless and all should refrain from publishing such news.

The apex court has mentioned that publishing news that are totally false regarding any case that has been registered at the Supreme Court is a very sad and deplorable act. It has also stated that any individual or organisation who is involved in such activities that do not adhere to the code of conduct when dealing with issues related to the constitution, law or journalism is liable to be penalised under the prevailing laws of the country.

The Supreme Court has also requested all to not believe in such news that is not based on facts. It has also stated that the Supreme Court has and will always be committed to upholding the rule of law.

Furthermore, it has requested the media houses that have published such news that are baseless to make the necessary corrections.
