The ongoing Central Committee meeting of the CPN UML has dwelled upon issues relating to implementation of the 10-point agreement of the taskforce and Supreme Court's mandamus order issued on July 12.
The apex court reinstated the House of Representatives and ordered the appointment of Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba to the post of prime minister.
The meeting convened at the office of Tulsi Lal Memorial Academy at Chyasal in Lalitpur today is scheduled to evaluate the achievements of the government led by CPN UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli. Moreover, the meeting is expected to set agenda for the party for the coming days, according to the CPN UML parliamentarian party chief whip Bishal Bhattarai. Furthermore, Bhattarai shared that the attendants of the meeting will also touch on party strengthening bid and party purification process among others.
Earlier on Monday, the party had decided to seek 24-hour clarification from the
22 UML parliamentarians who had cast vote to NC President Deuba while the latter had sought the vote of confidence in the parliament. Following the apex court order, the parliamentarians from the disgruntled faction of the UML including its senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal decided to go against the party’s official decision. The party had decided not to give the vote of confidence to Deuba.
