Supreme Court

The Supreme Court has adjourned the hearing of the case of 14 lawmakers against the CPN-UML. It is reported that the cases are postponed as Lumbini Chief Justice Shree Krishna Subedi is not well.

Subedi had applied for an adjournment of the case as he was suffering from cold, cough, and fever and was showing symptoms of COVID.

A bench of justices Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada and Kumar Regmi were directed to expedite the hearing of the case. CPN-UML chairperson KP Sharma Oli had filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court alleging that the speaker had not removed the 14 lawmakers from office.

Similarly, the UML had filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court alleging that the Speaker had not removed the two lawmakers who had been taken action by the CPN-UML in the Lumbini Provincial Assembly.
