All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has selected 58 players for closed training of the national football team. Among those selected, 24 are new players. All the 34 players who participated in the training prior to the two friendly matches held with Bangladesh last month have been selected for this training as well, national football team coach Bal Gopal Maharjan said.
Bimal Ghartimagar, Santosh Tamang and Dinesh Rajbanshi have been picked up for the closed training after a gap of one year. These three players were facing ANFA's disciplinary action one year ago.
According to Maharjan, the closed training would be organized at ANFA Complex Satdobato in Lalitpur. ANFA has called the players for the training for selection to the FIFA World Cup to be held in 2022 and the AFC Asian Cup Championship taking place in 2023.
The players selected for the closed training include Bishal Shrestha, Deep Karki, Bishal Sunar, Kiran Kumar Limbu, Bikesh Kuthu, Arpan Karki and Dev Limbu as goal-keeper; Saroj Dahal, Amit Tamang, Ajit Bhandari, Aditya Chaudhari, Devendra Tamang, Rajin Dhimal, Biraj Maharjan, Bikas Khawas, Suman Aryal, Bikas Tamang, Ananta Tamang, Nishan Khadka, Tshering Gurung, Dinesh, Ranjadeep Poudel, Suraj BK, Ashish Gurung, Rohit Chand and Dilen Moktan as defenders.
Likewise, those selected for training as mid-fielder are Ashok Thapa, Subas Gurung, Dipesh Ale Magar, Tej Tamang, Sujal Shrestha, Bishal Rai, George Prince Karki, Mikchhen Tamang, Santosh Sunil Bal, Hemanta Thapa Magar, Sesehang Aangdembe, Sanjok Rai, Nitin Thapa, Rajat Tiwari, Jaya Gurung, Erik Bista, Ravi Paswan, Pujan Uparkoti and Tridev Gurung.
The players selected for training as forwards include Rajesh Pariyar, Bimal Rana, Anjan Bishta, Bimal, Abhisek Rijal, Rejin Subba, Rajib Lopchan, Ashish Lama, Prijen Tamang, Bharat Khawas, Navayug Shrestha and Darshan Gurung.
