NA's Rokka wins National Open Half Marathon title

Athlete Rajan Rokka of the Nepali Army won the title of the National Open Half Marathon and Road Race Competition held in Butwal on Thursday on the occasion 31st Memorial Day of communist leader Madan Bhandari.

Rokka won the title by completing the distance of 21 kilometres in 1 hour 9 minutes and 24 seconds.

Winning the title, champion Rokka received Rs 100,000 prize in cash.

Likewise, Narendra Rawat of the Nepali Army got the second prize by completing the distance in 1 hour 10 minutes and 14 seconds. Rawat got Rs 75,000 in cash.

Nepali Army's Ramji Basnet completed the race in 1 hour 10 minutes and 33 seconds, to get Rs 50,000 in cash.

Coordinator of the tournament, Mohan Bahadur Ghale, said that Durga Budha of Jumla district, Nepali Army's Shreesh Lal and Armed Police Force's Kiran Singh Bogati emerged fourth, fifth and sixth in the competition.
