Head coach of the Nepali national football team, Abdullah Al Mutairi, has expressed his confidence that Nepal will beat India in the friendly match to be held tomorrow.
Although India is stronger than Nepal in football, the Nepali team will play this match for the future and not looking back in history, he said at a press conference organised here on Wednesday. Going by history, Nepal's performances were not satisfactory in the past, but preparations this time are such to secure a win, he said.
Of the total 19 football matches between Nepal and India, the latter has won 13 while Nepal has beat only twice. Similarly, four matches have ended in a draw.
The friendly matches will be held in Tripureshwor-based Dasharath Stadium. The first match is scheduled for 5:30 pm tomorrow and the second one for September 5.
The matches are as part of preparations for the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Championship scheduled to take place in the Maldives from October 1-16.
