Nepali climber Chatur Tamang has succeeded in climbing Mount Elbrus more than the previously declared target. In an interview given to NepalNews before his departure from Nepal to Russia, he announced that this year he will climb Mount Elbrus 140 times. From the year 2000 to last year, he reached the summit of Mount Elbrus 121 times.
According to his commitment, he had reached the peak of Mount Elbrus 19 times in the last few weeks, taking the number of ascents to 140. But he has reached the peak again and climbed the mountain 141 times. This time he was accompanied by a policeman and an Indian.
He said that this time the weather forecast will be good but it is not true.
There is no previous record that any Nepali has achieved success on the same mountain hundreds of times.
