Based on a decision taken by the Council of Ministers on Monday to resume the operation of domestic and international flights, the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has decided to allow the resumption of domestic flights from July 1.
The responsibility to fix the dates from when the flights can resume operations had been given by the Cabinet to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation. However, only 50 per cent of regular domestic flights will be allowed and the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal has been given the responsibility to manage the schedule.
Meanwhile, international flights to countries that have been specified will resume from Thursday (June 24) itself. The Civil Aviation Ministry has released the schedule of international flights till June 30.
As per the schedule, Nepal Airlines Corporation will conduct one flight to Doha of Qatar and Turkish Airlines will have one flight to Istanbul on June 24. Similarly, on June 25, one flight of Nepal Airlines will be operated to Japan and one flight of Air India will arrive in Kathmandu from New Delhi.
On June 26, a flight of Qatar Airways will arrive in Kathmandu from Doha and one flight of Turkish Airlines will arrive from Istanbul. On the same day, an Air Arabia flight will also come to Kathmandu from Abu Dhabi of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Nepal Airlines will conduct one flight to Doha and Himalaya Airlines will conduct one flight each to Kuala Lumpur and Dubai on June 27. Likewise, a Qatar Airways flight will arrive in Kathmandu from Doha and a Jazeera Airways flight will come from Kuwait.
According to the schedule released by the ministry, Nepal Airlines will conduct one flight to Dubai. Meanwhile, Himalaya Airlines will conduct one flight to Dammam of Saudi Arabia and Qatar Airways will have one flight to Doha on the same date.
On June 29, a Nepal Airlines flight will be conducted to Doha and one Turkish Airlines flight will arrive from Istanbul. A flight of Fly Dubai will arrive in Kathmandu from Dubai and one SalamAir flight will arrive from Oman on June 29.
Meanwhile, on June 30, Nepal Airlines will conduct one flight from Dubai to Kathmandu and Himalaya Airlines will conduct a flight from Dammam. Similarly, Qatar Airways will conduct one flight from Doha to Kathmandu and Jazeera Airways will fly one flight from Kuwait on the same date.
