KATHMANDU: Fly Dubai from the UAE and Jazeera Airways from Kuwait are set to launch their flights at Gautam Buddha International Airport in Bhairahawa.
Fly Dubai will start its daily flights on November 9, while Jazeera Airways will operate three flights a week beginning November 10.
As per the airport's Information Officer, Binod Singh Raut, Fly Dubai will arrive in Bhairahawa daily at 1:45 p.m. and will then depart for Kathmandu at 2:45 p.m. before continuing on to Dubai.
Jazeera Airways, which has previously serviced Gautam Buddha International Airport, will land in Bhairahawa on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 7:30 a.m., with a scheduled departure to Kuwait at 8:30 a.m.
Additionally, Thai Asia Airlines officially commenced flights between Bangkok and Bhairahawa on Sunday, with its inaugural flight landing at Gautam Buddha International Airport at 6:05 a.m. carrying seven crew members.
Raut explained that this was initially a test flight, and the Airbus A-320 successfully landed with crew members onboard. Thai Asia Airlines has recently received permission to resume flights to Bhairahawa and Kathmandu, although marketing and ticket sales have yet to begin for this service.
The introductory one-way fare from Bhairahawa to Bangkok is priced at Rs 12,000, with the AirAsia flight departing for Bangkok at 7:40 a.m.
