The Gandaki Province and Province 2 have signed the inter-province Memorandum of Understanding for promoting tourism. As per the MoU, the identification of touristic destinations, their promotion, and dissemination, continuity of direct flights between the provinces, and extension of the Janakpur-Pokhara air service are to be focused on in the days to come.
Similarly, the MoU has stated about religious, cultural, and archeological exchanges, exploration of the potentiality of adventurous tourism, establishment, and promotion of a religious touristic circuit from the Janaki Temple to Muktinath via the Triveni Dham, and identification and implementation of more areas of collaboration. The document was signed today in the witness of Province 2 Chief Minister Lal Babu Raut and Gandaki Province Chief Minister Krishna Chandra Nepali Pokhrel. The Province 2 CM is on the Pokhara visit at the invitation of the Gandaki Province Government.
Nepal Association of Tour and Travels Agents (NATTA) Gandaki Province chair Sanjay Kant Sigdel and Province 2 Chair Mohan Prasad Sharma had signed on the document from their respective sides. On the occasion, CM Raut said they were ready to cooperate with Gandaki in every aspect including the tourism sector. He vowed to undertake integrated efforts for the good causes of both provinces, speaking of the need of improving the road and air connectivity between the two provinces and encouraging tourists from India to visit Nepal.
Similarly, Gandaki CM Pokhrel highlighted the need for mutual cooperation among provinces to make headway towards the effective implementation of federalism. As he said, both provinces would collaborate for the promotion of the tourism industry.
