Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel has urged hotels and other businesses involved in the tourism sector of Nepal to utilise the facilities that have been provided by the government.

While receiving a recommendation letter from Hotel Association Nepal today, Minister Poudel mentioned that the budget for the next fiscal year 2078/79 had addressed many of the demands put forward by the tourism sector and to make use of the facilities that have been provided.

He mentioned that the budget for next fiscal year had provided hotels and other tourism businesses the same facilities that are provided to the productive sector and this could be possibly the best budget that could have been announced during this crisis created by the coronavirus pandemic.

Minister Poudel also assured the representatives of the Hotel Association Nepal that the budget will be implemented as envisaged.

The budget for next fiscal has waived the electricity demand fee for the duration of the prohibitory order for hotels and other tourism-related businesses. The budget has also waived the licence renewal fee for fiscal year 2078/79. The licence renewal of the tourism businesses will be done automatically.
