‘Walk the Talk’: The Health for All Challenge, an annual event launched by the World Health Organisation with the aim of encouraging people to be physically active and mentally well for their own health and that of others, has concluded in Pokhara today.
According to a new study, walking at least 7,000 steps a day reduced middle-aged people's risk of premature death from all causes by 50 percent to 70 percent, compared to that of other middle-aged people who took fewer daily steps.
A new study has shown that people who walk at least three to four hours per week, or bike at least two to three hours per week, or the equivalent after having a stroke may have a 54 per cent lower risk of death from any cause.
