The government has said it would book all the concerned if any involvement was found in the process of the buy and sale of the shares of Ncell, the private telecommunications service provider company.
Issuing a press release on Tuesday, Minister for Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma expressed the government's commitment to protect the interests of Nepal and Nepali people and ensure compliance of the existing legal framework.
Minister Sharma further said the government would carry out comprehensive study and investigation on the existing legal provisions and international process and procedure in connection with the transaction of the shares and its effects on telecommunications sector of Nepal and the impacts on the government's revenue generation.
Minster Sharma further shared that Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' on Monday has directed the authority concerned to study the share transaction deal carried out without taking prior approval from regulatory body, Nepal Telecom Authority, and on unnatural conditions and price.
