GenXT: The authorised importer and distributor of Apple products in Nepal

GenXT is preparing to pursue legal action against individuals who post misleading contents about the company on social media.

Generation Next Communication Pvt. Ltd. (GenXT) is Nepal's only official importer and distributor of Apple products such as iPhones, MacBooks, iPads, watches, and hearable devices.

Generation Next Communications Pvt Ltd was founded in 2003 and is now involved in the distribution of a number of globally recognised and renowned mobile phone, IT, and consumer electronics brands.

However, Rudraraj Pandey, an information technology businessperson in Nepal, has made detrimental allegations against the Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA) and its employees on social media without any robust evidence.

Pandey, who is currently in the United States, recently made misleading claims on social media, claiming that his Deerwalk Group company, Deercompware Limited, attempted to import iPhones into Nepal but was denied permission by authorities.

It appears that he is attempting to illegally import iPhones purchased for his other company from Dubai and bring them to Nepal. His company has no contract with the manufacturer or brand company. The claim that he can import directly contradicts current law. Importing without documents is not only illegal, but it also hampers government revenue and favours the grey market.

As a result, this press release has been issued, realizing our responsibility to provide accurate information to consumers and concerned Nepalese citizens by refuting Pandey's allegations.

In Nepal, Generation Next Communication Pvt Ltd (GenXT) is the official importer and distributor of iPhones. The company has been importing Apple products into Nepal since 2012. The official contract was updated on August 5, 2024. Although the contract cannot be made public because it is an 'NDA' (non-disclosure agreement), it can be viewed by the company or the Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA). According to the same contract and other documents, GenXT is officially importing and distributing iPhones in Nepal.

GenNext has been importing and selling iPhones through other retail companies in Nepal, including Oliz Store and Evo Store.

Type approval is the government's legal permission for certain imports of radio telecommunications equipment in plain language. In other words, all mobile phones, routers, smartwatches, smartbands, tablets, GPS trackers, and other devices entering Nepal must have this permission. In which the SIM card is used and the IMEI number is stored. According to sections 13 and 14 of the Telecommunications Act issued by the NTA, the authority has developed a type approval guideline known as Tab-4 in understandable language, which is available on the NTA's website.

In this way, under Nepal's current laws and regulations, Apple products used in information technology have been sold and distributed to the Nepali people for years.

We strongly condemn the person spreading disinformation and making misleading comments, which resulted in outrage that some people were unable to illegally import their products into Nepal, casting doubt on the credibility of the state's official bodies and reducing the state's revenue.

If such activities continue in the future, harming the brand's reputation, the company will be forced to pursue legal action against propaganda and disinformation.

Furthermore, we request that all customers avoid misleading and illegal information about our company on social media and get their Apple products from the only official importer and distributor.
