The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index dropped by 71.06 points to rest at 2834.40 points today. The market had witnessed a drop on Sunday too. The share market which had been on a bull run in the past few weeks has started correcting itself in the last couple of days.
Similarly, the sensitive index declined by 1.58 per cent or 8.37 points to 520.18 points. The float index too decreased by 2.61 per cent or 5.24 points to land at 195.68 points.
Meanwhile, 22,522,491 shares of 227 listed firms were traded today through 127,837 transactions. The total turnover today stood at over Rs 11.61 billion.
All the subgroups at Nepal Stock Exchange suffered losses today with finance and hydropower sub-indices suffering the most. The finance sub-index decreased by 5.18 per cent or 120.22 points to 2,200.96 points. The hydropower subgroup was the biggest loser of the day declining by 5.2 per cent or 150.24 points to rest at 2,741.18 points.
