PM assures of operation of Nepal-China trade points in Mustang

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has assured of regular operation of the transit points along the Nepal-China border in Mustang.

In his address to a programme organised by the CPN (Maoist Centre), Mustang chapter at Jomsom today, the Prime Minister who is also the party central Chair said during his recent visit to China, it was bilaterally agreed to operate 14 trade transits along the Nepal-China border. "Likewise, an understanding has been reached to allow the movement of people (locals) via the Korala transit point Mustang the basis of a pass system."

As the Prime Minister said, the Chinese side agreed to assist Nepal in the construction of physical infrastructures along the Korala point (towards the Nepal territory). He also promised to accord top priority for upgrading the Kaligandaki corridor connecting the Korala Point.

Prior to this, the prime Minister made an aerial inspection of the flood-ravaged Kagbeni, Muktinath and Lomanthang of Upper Mustang.

The PM also on the occasion reiterated that the campaign of good governance launched by the government against corruption which remains as a major challenge will not be stopped.

Stating that the present coalition will run the government for a full five years, he said 'some leaders' who were out of power were like fish without water.

CPN (Maoist Centre) Gandaki province in-charge Devendra Paudel, province party chair Gayatri Gurung and other leaders said the party's three-month campaign has taken the party closer to the people and prompted it to address the people's problems.

Before this, the PM participated in an interaction programme organized by the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) in Jomsom.
