The Kathmandu Metropolitan City Office has started making necessary preparations to control and minimise the expected risks along with the onset of the monsoon. The metropolitan has started making preparations early this year so that the problems witnessed last year due to the floods in the rivers within the valley can be avoided in a better manner.

The metropolitan office has asked people residing in the valley to call 9851024305 if they face any problems related to floods.

The metropolitan has also warned people living close to the rivers to remain alert as the water level in the rivers start rising due to the continuous rains. It has also asked the people to inform the metropolitan office if they foresee any danger of floods within the valley.

Ishwor Man Dangol, Spokesperson of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Office, said in the previous years various rivers have been causing a lot of damage and destruction in areas that they flow through. Hence, to minimise those risks the metropolitan has already started working on prevention measures, he added.
