KMC to provide relief to families affected by COVID

The Kathmandu Metropolitan City Office will introduce some schemes to provide relief to the valley citizens during the municipal assembly that is to be held on June 16.

Bidhya Sundar Shakya, Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, mentioned that the municipal office’s priority this year will again be related to health. He informed that the programmes that will be launched this year will focus on the control of the spread of the coronavirus and treatment of patients with the contagion.

The mayor along with chiefs of the ward offices of Kathmandu Metropolitan City will be present to hold discussions on the city’s policies and programmes.

Shakya informed that the KMC Office will provide some relief to families of those infected with COVID-19 and also families who have lost a member to the virus. He also stated that the metropolitan city office will provide concession on taxes for businesses operating within the city.

He mentioned that looking at the degree of the impact the metropolitan city office will provide up to 85 per cent discount on taxes. Shakya said the work being done by the metropolitan city office will be further classified so as to increase the efficiency of all work being done.
