Pashupatinath temple installs ‘QR Code’ system for monetary offering

Devotees can now make monetary offering at the Pashupatinath temple from QR Code system.

Now the monetary offering can be made via QR Code kept at different places at Pashupatinath temple —  south entrance gate, the shoe and slipper room and the main temple premises. A machine has been kept there for the same. 

The monetary offering can be deposited at the bank account of Pashupati Area Development Trust through online payment system by using smartphones. It is learnt that the system will help to check the misuse of monetary offerings. 

An agreement in this regard has been signed today at the collaboration of the PADT and Bank of Kathmandu Ltd. 

Inaugurating the QR Code system today, Governor of the Nepal Rastra Bank, Maha Prasad Adhikari, said that this system should be developed across the nation. 

He stressed the need for creating awareness across the nation in this regard. 

Similarly, Member Secretary of PADT, Pradeep Dhakal, said the technology will facilitate making monetary offerings.  

Chairperson of Bank of Kathmandu Ltd, Prakash Shrestha has shared that this service will be started in other shrines of the country as well.
