A large number of passengers who want to go home from Kathmandu have thronged the Bus Park in Gongabu in the capital city ahead of the week-long prohibitory order to be enforced in Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur.

The prohibitory order, aimed at breaking the chain of coronavirus infections that has rapidly spread in recent days, will come into effect from 6 am on Thursday.

A joint meeting of the Chief District Officers of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Lalitpur on Monday decided to shut down everything except essential services.

With this decision of the administration, public vehicles heading to destinations outside Kathmandu valley have become crowded.

Meanwhile, passengers of long routes have complained about the unavailability of tickets to return to their homes. This problem has also happened due to a limited number of vehicles for long routes.

Jayaraj Joshi from Bajhang district said he did not get a ticket to return home.
