President Ramchandra Paudel has wished for the happiness, peace and prosperity to all Nepali sisters and brothers at home and abroad on the occasion of Chhath festival.
In a message of best wishes delivered today on the occasion, the Head of the State expressed his confidence that the festival would help end existing discriminations, anomalies and aberrations prevailing in Nepali society and promote a feeling of national unity among all the Nepali people.
President Paudel wished that such festivals would protect and preserve fundamental culture and further consolidate mutual harmony.
Also on the occasion, Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav in his message of best wishes said the Chhath festival would promote collectivism and unity and communicate purity in the mind, expression and action of the people.
On the same occasion, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' delivering a message expressed his hope that the Chhath festival would further strengthen national unity, mutual trust and relations.
Extending best wishes to all Nepali sisters and brother at home and abroad as well as the Terai residents, PM Prachanda said though Nepal is small in geographical area the country is big and powerful in terms of language, art, culture, festival, customs and civilization.
"Our culture, customs and historical facts provides evidences to prove this as a reality. Nepali Constitution has embraced unity with diversity as a national pride while internalizing multi-ethnicity, multi-lingual, multi-cultural and regional features of Nepali society", reads the PM's message.
Prime Minister Prachanda said the festival would enliven the nature-human relations, respect and produce and protect life-consuming natural goods and play crucial role in the development of work culture.
