The prohibitory order in Kathmandu valley has been extended by one week. Though the number of infections has been declining the danger from the coronavirus is still there hence the order has been lengthened again.
The decision to extend the prohibitory order has been taken by the meeting of the chief district officers of Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur. The current order was supposed to end at midnight of June 14.
However, the modality of the prohibitory order has been changed this time. Shops selling food items, vegetables, and meat products will now be allowed to remain open till 11 am. Construction activities will also be allowed to continue but by adopting the necessary health safety protocols.
Movement of private vehicles of employees of banks and financial institutions and government offices and a few other offices will be made a bit easier albeit by adopting all safety measures. However, public transportation will not be allowed to operate at the moment. People will be allowed to move around but will have to wear a face mask.
Shops selling books, utensils, cosmetics, and fancy goods will be allowed to open but the days and time that they will be allowed to open will be fixed by the District Administration Office.
