Pathao, Indriver or ride sharing apps’ riders will now be able to keep a mobile holder and stand on the motorcycle. Patan High Court has issued an injunction in the name of the government not to implement the decision to not allow mobile holders on motorcycles and cameras on helmets.

Due to the increase in accidents, with the agreement of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport and the Department of Transport Management, the traffic police made a rule not to allow mobile stands on motorcycles. David Choudhary and Aryanraj Pandey had filed a case in court against the rule.

The court has also ordered not to fine those who use stands and GoPro cameras. The government had warned that those who do not follow the rules will be fined from Rs 500 to Rs 20,000.

The court held that the demand made by the writ petitioner to stop such fines is justified and in accordance with the law. The court has asked the government to conduct a technical study and analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of the use of such devices and to take necessary action to determine appropriate legal standards.
