Police on Tuesday arrested three men in possession of Rs 8,556,000 for which they could not reveal the source in Kathmandu.
The arrested have been identified as Laxman Paudel (32) of Simara Jitpur Sub-Metropolitan City-2 in Bara district; Abhishek Agrawal, aka 'Rinku', operator of Holiday Trading Pvt Ltd and, Madhusudan Tripathi (36) of Panchkhal Municipality-13 in Kavre district. Tripathi is said to be a staff at Holiday Trading Ltd, informed police.
Acting on a tip-off a team deployed from Metropolitan Police Circle (MPC) Janasewa nabbed Poudel in possession of Rs 3.1 million from Khichpokhari in Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC)-22. While investigating the case, it was revealed that Poudel had given remaining cash worth Rs 5,456,000 to Agarwal, said police.
MPC recovered the remaining cash from the possession of Agrawal after carrying out a raid at Holiday Trading company based at Phasike in KMC-24.
They have been hand over to Pulchowk-based Property Laundering Investigation Bureau, informed police.
