Two held with rhino-horn in Kathmandu

Police on Friday arrested two persons in possession of protected wildlife rhino's horn in Kathmandu district.

The arrested have been identified as Tilak Bahadur Basnet (19) of Dudhkoshi Rural Municipality-6 in Solukhumbhu and Dipak Gotame (28) of Tamankhola Rural Municipality-1 in Baglung district.

A team deployed from Metropolitan Crime Division (MCD) nabbed them from Gaurigaun, Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC)-9.

MCD also confiscated the horn weighing around 970 grams from their possession.

They will be tried under National Park and Wildlife Conservation Act (2029).

The arrested duo have been handed over to Hattisar-based District Forest Office, Kathmandu for necessary actions, informed MCD.
