Two passengers held with 50 rounds of bullets at Tribhuvan International Airport

Arrested two passengers of Shree airlines with 50 rounds of bullets from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on Monday afternoon.

Security personnel at Tribhuvan International Airport today arrested two passengers of Shree airlines with 50 rounds of bullets from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on Monday afternoon.

The arrestees have been identified as Badri Hang Rai and his mother Muna Devi Rai, the residents of Mechinagar Municipality-2, in Jhapa district.

The duo were arrested after security personnel found 50 rounds of bullets in their luggage during security check, according to Central Police spokesperson, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Basanta Bahadur Kunwar.

All the bullets that police seized were of 9mm pistol, police informed..

The duo were about to board the flight of Shree Airlines scheduled to take off for Bhadrapur in Jhapa at 12:00 pm today.

Meanwhile, the arrestees have been handed over to Gaushala-based Metropolitan Police Circle for further investigation into the case. 

The arrestees will be tried for a case under the Arms and Ammunition Act, police said.
